If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you know by now I “have this thing with walls” …and murals… and street art of all sorts! To say I’m obsessed is kind of an understatement! I spend a lot of time traveling between the east coast and west coast, so it’s no surprise that some of my favorite walls happen to be in sunny Los Angeles! I’m probably just one of a jillion people to find these colorful surprises amidst the palm trees and bougainvillea covered streets, but each time I see a new one my heart skips a beat!

I was SO excited when I found out my hubs was playing some gigs in Mexico over Halloween weekend. Mexico has always been one of my favorite places to visit (I’ve been trying to figure out how to get early retirement in Tulum for longer than I’ve been in the workforce!!)! From the warmth of its people and the richness of its culture to the colorful landscapes and of course… the most amazing food EVER (tacos! tacos! tacos!), Mexico is Mexamazing!!

ALL BLACK ON DAY OF THE DEAD: SANTIAGO DE QUERETARO, MEXICO

Spent a lovely weekend exploring Santiago de Queretaro, Mexico on Halloween weekend (aka Halloweekend!) and Dia de los Muertos… As an homage to this sacred holiday, I decided to forego my traditional wacky Halloween costumes (ahem – GMAIL circa 2009!) and get somber in all black. This actually worked out pretty well because no outfit I could’ve chosen would’ve dared compete with the beautiful, colorful backdrop of this colonial Spanish city with its brightly painted buildings and delightful residents!
